For the first time in 40 years, the Boston Crusaders will be crossing the Atlantic! In March of 2022, the corps will take the streets of Dublin to perform in the St. Patrick’s Festival parade!
From March 11th to March 19th, the 2022 edition of the Boston Crusaders will be treated to a once in a lifetime trip to Ireland. Throughout the week, the corps will experience everything Ireland has to offer between feature performances across the country, rehearsals, and alumni meetup events! Courtesy of our tour partner Celtic Horizon Tours, our family, friends, and alumni are invited to travel alongside the corps with a special travel package planned just for them!
Both the member package and alumni and friends package feature a jam-packed week of sightseeing, tours, dining, and reuniting. Featured highlights include tours of Dublin, Belfast and Trinity College, admission to the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, the Titanic Centre, and EPIC Centre, leisure time around the city, alumni and friends dinners, and of course, the St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Who can go on the alumni and friends trip? Can we travel with the corps?
Alumni, parents, family, and friends of the corps are all invited to join our parallel alumni & friends travel package offered by Celtic Horizon Tours. This package is tailored specifically for family and friends of the Boston Crusaders. Parents and family are not permitted to travel and house with the corps, but the parallel package provides ample time to view rehearsal, performances, and free time with your member.
Who is organizing the trip?
We are proud to have Irish travel operators Celtic Horizon Tours as our tour partner! Celtic Horizon Tours will handle all of the planning, housing, and transportation while the corps and alumni & friends are in Ireland. Both groups will have a tour guide on site for their full trip.
What is the Alumni & Friends package cost? What is included?
Please refer Celtic Horizon Tours’ website for full financial information. The full trip costs $2,028.73 (€1,695). First deposit of $450.38 (€378) is due on May 1st, 2021. All payments for the Alumni & Friends package will be made on the Celtic Horizon Tours website. The full payment schedule is:
- May 1st: Deposit of $450.38 (€378)
- September 16th: 25% balance due
- December 16th: Full balance of $2,028.73 (€1,695) due
Included in the trip is 7 nights hotel accommodation, daily Irish breakfast/lunch on St. Patrick’s Day/dinner nightly (evening meal served at hotel on nights two and five, light lunch on St. Patrick’s Day, dinner in Dublin on day four, dinner on day seven, dinner at the Abbey Tavern on day eight; Irish night and dinner at Taylors Three Rock on day six)
Travel and transfers by touring coach all 8 days with professional driver and tour guide

Do members have to pay?
Yes, we consider the Ireland trip a special edition March camp. The only additional fee you pay is the March camp fee of $200. The cost of the week long experience is approximately $1,000 per member but will be covered by the Boston Crusaders organization. You will also need some spending money for a few meals on your own and free time in the city.
What does it mean that I’m on a waitlist? How many travelers can we accommodate?
We can offer pricing and accommodation in groups of 50 due to coach bus and hotel capacity. Once we sell the initial 50 slots, we will open an additional 50 slots (of which we must sell 35). If we exceed 100, we will open the final 50 seats on a wait list.
The process will be rolling for first come, first served. Currently, our capacity sits at:
- Bus 1: FULL
- Bus 2: FULL
- Bus 3: Contact Celtic Horizon Tours for waitlist. 35 seat minimum needed.
Once bus 2 is full, subsequent reservations for bus 3 will be on a waitlist until we secure the 35 minimum reservations. This information will be updated weekly and posted on our social media. If we do not hit the 35 minimum seats by the winter, waitlisted deposits will be fully refunded.
Can I attend alumni and friends events if I do not travel with the group?
No, you must travel as part of the corps alumni & friends group package. Due to the nature of our tour, we are unable to accommodate extra travelers at individual itinerary events.
Am I responsible for my own flight? When should I book?
Yes. Whether a member, or traveling as part of the alumni & friends group package, you will be responsible for your flight. You will depart the United States on March 11th and we will give you a window of time to land in Dublin. Our tour director will meet us at the airport and stay with us during the entire tour. As it is St. Patrick’s Day week, we recommend booking as early as possible.
What is the itinerary? Are there options to arrive early or stay longer?

Do you offer refunds? Is there trip insurance?
All payments are fully refundable (excluding bank charges / credit card fees) until the date of the final payment, December 16th. Travel insurance may be purchased privately. You may elect flight insurance through your preferred airline.
How does my participation in the trip support the Boston Crusaders?
A portion of every alumni & friend reservation will be donated back to the Boston Crusaders by Celtic Horizon Tours. This will help offset the cost of bringing the members to Ireland.
