Tour Operations Team (2026 Season)

Attendance at camps or other preseason functions is not required.

Production Management, Operations Management, Tour Management

Compensation:

A small stipend will be offered to cover any incidentals incurred during the season. Flights to and from the corps will be covered (one in and one out), as well as food and housing. Any additional travel to and from the organization will be at the team members expense unless approved by corps administration.


Inspire Arts & Music and the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps are looking for individuals to join our Tour Operations Team. Members of the Tour Operations Team will assist the Tour Management team in the day to day operations of the Boston Crusaders during their summer season. Applications can be sent in at any time (please see below for submission details) and candidates will be contacted / interviewed by a member of the corps’ administration. Please review the responsibilities, and qualifications detailed below. To be considered for a position on the team, interested parties must be comfortable with these expectations and be able to commit to a minimum two week stretch of either spring training or tour. Slots will run a maximum of six weeks unless a longer stretch is approved after a performance review by the tour and corps administration.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Daily Tasks:

  • Assist the tour management team with the oversight and organization of membership information (check in to spring training, dorm/hotel rooming assignments, files and documents related to rostering, travel info and bussing info)
  • Assist with daily clerical tasks (printing and copies, communication with vendors, sending/receiving mail, packages, and other deliveries
  • Execute the daily schedule set by upper management
  • Assist in the loading/unloading and on time travel of all trucks, buses, and support vehicles. (This includes the kitchen truck, equipment and prop trucks, uniform/merchandise trailers, member and staff buses)
  • Assist in the set up and tear down of props and other scenic units at rehearsal and shows.
  • Ride in the advance vehicle to set up housing and show sites (on tour) (Up at second block of the day)
  • Coordinate and execute all airport, train and bus shuttles with the tour management team. (Often times there will be multiple runs each day of differing length. These can include personal trips for members or staff.)
  • Coordinate and execute daily shopping, food and supply runs with kitchen team, tour management team and production team. (These can include personal purchases for members, staff, volunteers or drivers and will be made with funds provided by the purchaser. All other purchase must be approved by the corps administration. ALL receipts for corps purchases must be submitted to the tour director upon return to housing.)
  • Monitor fuel levels in vehicles and auxiliary tanks and refill when needed / requested
  • Assist in driving corps vehicles to and from housing and or show venues. (This can include overnight driving)
  • Research housing logistics, including: maps, parking arrangements, nearby grocery / hardware stores, closest UPS/FedEx locations, closest medical facilities (urgent care, clinics, ER), Closest airports, laundromats

Rehearsals: (Spring Training & Tour)

  • Oversee rehearsal ice and water (Set up ice and water stations at each housing site, refill after each meal, ensure that there is access to water and ice at the rehearsal stadiums, coordinate ice supplies with kitchen team, tour management team, and transportation team)
  • Set up shade locations on rehearsal fields for Texas tour and other southern locations
  • Ride ahead of the corps to set up housing and show sites. This includes all signage, building access, water access, field locations, parking plan for all corps vehicles, indoor locations for support staff and or inclement weather
  • Communicate all housing and show site logistics to the tour management team, kitchen team, and other parties in need of these specifics. (Complete the DCI housing forms with the housing contacts at both arrival and departure walk throughs.)

Performances:

  • Assist with show water when needed (Filling extra coolers, water at the gate for post show)
  • Attend and coordinate warm up sites at all performances through communication with caption staff and be present for show prep, unload, and warm ups with assigned section (Time the distance from warm up zones to gate, maintain warm up schedule to ensure on time departures and arrivals, communicate any issues to the tour management team including, uniform problems, injury, illness, or other factors affecting the performance of any individuals or sections, assist in the set up and tear down of each performance (podiums, props, generators, other equipment)

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 22 years old to apply
  • Valid Driver’s license & clean driving record
  • Prior participation in a performing arts organization (DCI, WGI) preferred but not mandatory
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written communications as well as oral
  • Proficiency with Slack, Google applications, Microsoft office

Traits:

  • Leadership or management experience is a plus but not required

  • Ability to multitask, take direction, execute with precision, and adjust approaches when needed

Media Team (2026 Season)

Job Description

For the 2026 season, the Boston Crusaders are seeking:

  • Short Form Content Creators
  • Videographers
  • Video Editors

The Boston Crusaders are seeking a variety of video-related skills to join our touring media team. Selected candidate(s) will create and execute multimedia projects that document the members, volunteers, staff, and the greater organization throughout move-ins and tour. For the short form content creator position, this will include shooting, editing, and/or adapting existing content for TikToks and reels. The videographers and editors will focus on performance capture, highlight reels and/or documentary-style storytelling pieces. All candidate(s) should have a keen eye for sports-related content and video interviews, with strong camera skills and the ability to work individually and within a team. Knowledge of audio production and/or lighting is desired but not required for the video positions. Videographers will be required to shoot and edit.

This is a summer contract position requiring team members to travel alongside the Boston Crusaders during their summer season. Available positions include local “day” work, and traveling contracts ranging from 10 days through 10 weeks in length. The season begins in late-May in New England and concludes in mid-August in Indianapolis. Hours are flexible but require 40+ hours per week.
