James Campbell Receives Yamaha Legacy Award

Congratulations to James Campbell on the 2015 Yamaha Legacy Award!

James Campbell, Provost’s Distinguished Professor and Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Kentucky  accepted the Yamaha Legacy Award 2015 from John Wittmann, Education and Artist Relations Manager for Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division. The award was presented to Professor Campbell at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in San Antonio, TX. The Yamaha Legacy in Education Award is given only once a year to an individual who is considered to be legendary in their service to and effect upon music education. Other award recipients are luminaries in the field, including Dave Samuels, Jim Petercsak, and Bob Breithaupt, among others. 

 
Yamaha Artist Relations Assistant Jalissa Gashco said, “We take great time and give careful thought when considering who will receive the award, and are proud of the profound impact our artists continue to have within the music education community and beyond.”
