On February 20, 2024, in Member News, News

We are proud to introduce our three drum majors who will be leading the corps in 2024! Please welcome Wes Booker, Joe Zishka, and Marielle Chrupcala to the podium.

Wes Booker

Wes Booker is entering his third season in drum corps and second with the Boston Crusaders. Previously, he served as a drum major for the Cadets in 2022 before shipping up to Boston in 2023. He grew up in Dallas, Texas and is a graduate of Coppell High School. He currently studies Music Education at the University of Texas at Austin on his primary instrument, the bassoon. After graduation, he is looking forward to a career as a band director and eventually pursuing a career in orchestral conducting.

Joe Zishka

Joe Zishka is beginning his fourth year of drum corps and first as a drum major. Joe is a veteran of the 2023 Boston Crusaders mellophone section as well as The Cadets and Madison Scouts. An Ohio native, Joe studies Music Education and Performance at Ohio State University on his primary instrument, clarinet. Joe is excited to take on new responsibility within the corps as a drum major this summer.

Marielle Chrupcala

Marielle Chrupcala is a first year member of the Boston Crusaders. Originally from Portsmouth, Rhode Island, she is currently a junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she studies music education. Primarily a saxophonist, Marielle has also served as drum major for the UMass Minuteman Marching Band for the past two seasons. She is fortunate to be taking on this new and exciting opportunity as a drum major for the Boston Crusaders.
