Gino Cipriani Takes Additional Role As Assistant Director
It is with great excitement that the Boston Crusaders announce Gino Cipriani as Assistant Director. Over the last six years as Director of Music, Gino has become an integral part of the Boston Crusaders team, elevating our performance both on the field and behind the scenes. Gino brings the same passion, excellence, and experience to the brass and music program that he brings to the planning, coordination, and logistical details needed to execute a world class experience for our members. This summer, Gino will serve as Assistant Director as well as continue his role as a Director of Music where he administers and oversees the BACBrass program.
“What struck me since day one was the intensity and the passion that Gino brings to making sure the member’s experience on and off the field is everything that it should be. He not only has the highest possible standards in the music and brass performance area, but also for the organization as a whole. This position really formalizes and publicly affirms what is already taking place and moves the organization and Gino forward into the future,” said Chris Holland, Executive Director of the Boston Crusaders.
“I cannot begin to express the level of gratitude I have for Chris Holland and the Boston Crusaders for this incredible opportunity. Their confidence, trust, and support are truly humbling,” said Gino Cipriani. “I can barely remember a time when drum corps wasn’t a part of my life. This activity has played a role in making me a better person, musician, teacher and has created friendships that will last a lifetime. I would love nothing more than to continue to pass along my love for this activity and the Boston Crusaders as the Assistant Director. This corps is truly made of giants.”
Gino is a world-renowned music educator in the marching arts bringing nearly a lifetime of experience to the team. Before joining the Boston Crusaders in 2017, Gino served as the Brass Caption Supervisor for The Cadets during the 2000, 2001, and 2005-2016 seasons, earning three DCI World Championship titles and three Jim Ott High Brass Awards. Gino also served on the brass staff for the Blue Devils, Magic of Orlando, and Santa Clara Vanguard. He earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Instrumental Education from the University of Mississippi and his Master of Science in Music Education from Towson University and continues to serve as a consultant, educator, and adjudicator year-round.
As assistant director, Gino will have input in developing and implementing plans and goals for the organization from drum corps scheduling and operations to compliance with internal policies, hiring of staffing, training and evaluating.
“This is a great day for the Boston Crusaders members, staff, volunteers, fans and alumni,” said Chris Holland.
