February Production Camp Recap

On February 25, 2020, in News

This weekend, the 2020 Boston Brass met at The Colony High School in The Colony, TX for the second production camp of the season. Riding off the momentum of our last camp, the BACBrass came ready to go for a productive weekend of visual technique and music preparation.

Over the course of three days, the hornline added over two minutes of music to their repertoire, thereby completing the ballad. With the first three movements of the production now in the books, it is safe to say that the corps’ ability to handle the high demand and technical skills required this season is off the charts. The members will continue to perfect their parts between camps using a web-based music learning software called SmartMusic.

The medical team was hard at work yet again conducting physicals and condition training throughout the weekend. By conducting these screenings in the off season, the medical team will have baseline statistics to reference over the summer, with the goal of providing better, faster care.

Perhaps the most exciting news for the members is the delivery of our brand new Yamaha horns this weekend. The BACBrass received a full set of trumpets, mellophones, baritones, and tubas for the 2020 season. We are appreciative of Yamaha’s consistent support and extremely excited to get these on the field soon!

A huge thank you is in place for our admin and Dallas volunteers who made this rehearsal weekend possible. We are appreciative of all of the family, friends, and fans who came out to cook or run errands for the corps. If you are interested in volunteering for an upcoming camp, please contact volunteer@bostoncrusaders.org.

Next up, the BACBrass will meet for another production camp at The Colony High School March 27th-29th. The full corps, including percussion and guard, will rejoin April 24th-26th for the final rehearsal camp in San Antonio.
